Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and visionary leader to assume the role of Sr. Director, Cross Border Strategy and Innovation. This role will support our global strategy to evolve and modernize the core cross-border business, with a particular focus on our cross-border programs, rules, economics, and new solutions.
The successful candidate will manage a comprehensive, multi-year transformation effort focused on evaluating big rock risks or opportunities to the consumer cross-border business, defining and refining our strategic approach, aligning with key executives and executing across all global markets in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. The role will interact extensively across a variety of global functions, including pricing and interchange, legal, government engagement, core product, risk, client services and regional/local market teams.
Essential Functions
Global Cross-border Acquiring Strategy Own the strategy and manage associated workstreams related to cross-border acquiring, including measurement and tracking, processing solution development, rules/pricing evolution, compliance and risk policies, legal and government engagement gameplan, internal and client communications, and executive and regional alignment.
XB Solutions: Partner with key functions like network processing, value-added services and treasury teams to design, develop, pilot and scale net-new capabilities for our clients’ XB business. Represent XB throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring continued strategic alignment and on-schedule delivery. Act as general SME and thought leader on XB and ecosystem challenges and opportunities for innovative new approaches.
Market execution: Build out and maintain organizational infrastructure and execution plans to manage all workstreams over time and across geographies and regions, in partnership with regional XB team, client services and AE teams. Ensure relevant and impactful research, analytics, data science resources and tools are deployed effectively to in-market teams. Establish robust RACIs, deliverables and timelines across all workstreams.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 15+ of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD) PhD with 9+ years of experience
• Proven experience in a senior strategic role in management consulting or within a global organization, focusing on cross-border initiatives and/or corporate strategy.
• Strong understanding of international markets, the global payments ecosystem, and current innovation trends related to cross-border payments.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with global teams and stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to drive change and implement new strategies.
• Proficiency in project management and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated success in driving global initiatives.
• Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 213,000.00 to 332,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
