The WEX Internship Program offers an experience for ambitious and curious students, who are interested in growing professionally and developing their skills to become the next generation of technology leaders.

Our internship program is designed to provide interns hands-on, practical experiences while working alongside some of our industry’s smartest teams; as well as providing immediate value to their teams and our leaders.

As an intern, you will be challenged and offered the opportunity to make an impact across the business and be involved in the company’s most critical business decisions.

What you will be doing in this role:

The WEX Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is a newly formed team and we are looking for individuals passionate about developing software to help scale monitoring, alerting, provisioning and configuration management.

The team will be part of the Enterprise Platform Services organization which is building out common tools and services for all of WEX. The team is progressively responsible for:

• full-stack observability
• level two alerting
• reliability engineering and incident response for products and services that are on-boarded into the team.

We aim to ensure that our production environment remains available to our customers and we aim to proactively address reliability issues before they affect performance or availability.

Who we are looking for:

• At a minimum, you should be a rising junior, senior, or masters-level student, in a degree/certificate-seeking accredited program
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
• Experience in software development in one or more programming languages, and willingness to dig deep to solve interesting problems.
• Experience with Linux and AWS technologies is a plus.
• Strong project management skills, including planning and execution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting information
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment
