The WEX Internship Program offers an experience for ambitious and curious students, who are interested in growing professionally and developing their skills to become the next generation of technology leaders.

Our internship program is designed to provide interns hands-on, practical experiences while working alongside some of our industry’s smartest teams; as well as providing immediate value to their teams and our leaders.

As an intern, you will be challenged and offered the opportunity to make an impact across the business and be involved in the company’s most critical business decisions.

What you will be doing in this role:

We’re the Transact Global (TAG) team at WEX. TAG is an open loop payment processing platform built from the ground up by a small, agile team. It is cloud-native and built primarily with Go, Mongo, and Terraform.

The TAG team is pushing the frontiers of payments technology and continuing to operationalize and scale the product. Our team works hard, covers for one another, and maintains work-life balance. We own our results and we take pride of ownership in everything we do.

You will:

• Work on front-end web code, back end services, data stores, and infrastructure system.s
• Write modern software deployed in the cloud
• Work on agile teams to deliver software iteratively.
• Learn new technology and work with multiple tech stacks.
• Nurture deep trusted partnerships with your respective business teams
• Understand how your job is key to support the wider WEX's organization.

Who we are looking for:

• At a minimum, you should be a rising junior, senior, or masters-level student, in a degree/certificate-seeking accredited program
• Someone who loves to write code.
• Someone who is comfortable balancing the need to move fast with the realities of working in a highly regulated space like payments.
• Strong project management skills, including planning and execution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting information
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment
