DESCRIPTION

We are looking for motivated and talented Software Engineers in Test who want to help us solve some of the most complex challenges in financial technology. Technology teams at CME write and maintain ultra low -latency electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, and front-end trading interfaces, all of which are central to CME's business. We are focused on designing, building and deploying customer focused solutions with passion and precision.

Software Engineers in Test at CME Group will gain unparalleled experience in electronic trading and financial technology. They will have the opportunity to work on a variety of applications and projects that directly impact the global trading ecosystem. Our engineers work on a wide variety of projects including developing cloud infrastructure, researching blockchain technologies, and applications that directly impact the trading lifecycle.

The Software Engineers in Test will participate in a Rotational Development program for 18-24 months to gain experience working with several teams, on different projects, and different technologies. This program will also include social events, professional development and knowledge sharing sessions on different aspects of CME's business functions.

These are full-time, hybrid roles, typically based out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Chicago, which includes a complimentary coffee and snack bar, as well as a game room and social space.

The Ideal Candidates:

• Implements designs for automated testing framework

• Works with team to develop software for making UI, Messaging and Batch applications more testable.

• Interfaces and communicates with internal teams.

• Helps to create and maintain SDLC artifacts and facilitating reviews.

• Works with Sr and Lead SET in implementing automation opportunities and overcoming testability challenges.

• Is interested in finding new and unique ways to challenge the system

• Adaptable and able to master new concepts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Is business, technical & process oriented

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical discipline

• Passion for learning

• Detail oriented

• Excited to solve problems

• Ability to work with others at varying levels of technical understanding

• Strong communication skills

• Experience with Unix/Linux

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented principles, preferably in Java

• Knowledge of Scripting language like Python, Perl, Bash

Bonus Qualifications - experience with any of the following:

• Prior role as Software Engineer in Test (internship, classwork, etc.)

• Automation tools: TestNG, Cucumber, Selenium

• IDE: Eclipse, IntelliJ

• Scripting languages: Python, Bash

• Relational databases: Oracle, SQL Server

• Object Oriented Programming languages: Java, C++

• Data analytics tools: R, MATLab, PowerBI, Tableau
