    Job Description

    We are looking for a contracts manager with a background in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts to join Square's Commercial Legal team.

    You will:

    • Draft and negotiate many contracts including marketing, several vendor services, consulting, licensing, non disclosure, and other commercial and technology related agreements

    • Work as part of the Counsel team with other teams on a variety of legal matters with specific emphasis on Square’s developer partnerships

    • Work with members of the Counsel team to develop and improve applicable forms, processes and procedures

    • Manage outside vendors and attorneys and coordinate efforts across other teams

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    You have:

    • BA/BS + five (5) years of contracts drafting and negotiation experience at technology companies or law firms.

    • JD or Masters degree a PLUS.

    • Expertise in drafting and negotiating several commercial, partnership, licensing and other technology related agreements

    • Analytical ability, project management experience and explaining contract requirements

    • A team-oriented style and can work in a distributed workforce

    • Self-starter and capable of minimal oversight for performance of job functions.

    • The ability to meet deliverables on time and work in an evolving and growing environment that is prone to changes

    • Familiarity Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Docusign, and other contract management and legal department management tools is a plus

    Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Zone A: USD $138,200 - USD $169,000 Zone B: USD $128,500 - USD $157,100 Zone C: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700 Zone D: USD $110,600 - USD $135,200

    This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
