San Francisco, CA

    Job Description

The Security organization is responsible for protecting Square while allowing the company to take principled risks. We are focused on scaling our impact, and a large part of this is building the Program Management Organization (PMO) to support functions and programs for Security. This includes ensuring teams involved in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) have the support they need to run smoothly and predictably all while minimizing friction.

As Square looks to grow both organically and inorganically in 2021, having a structured and organized approach to M&A will be essential to our long-term success. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our Security PMO team to build and manage our Security M&A program, which is directly responsible for some of our most important projects and engagements. You will develop and implement frameworks to ensure the evaluation and mitigation of risk across the company as it pertains to M&A activities. You will report to the Head of Security Programs at Square.

    YOU WILL:

    • Manage large scale security programs across Square

    • Create and manage systems that inventory all requested and planned work, assign criteria to evaluate and build the roadmap, and then manage programs to successful launch.

    • Manage diverse relationships with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Analytics teams, and provide recommendations that help teams understand and achieve their program executables.

    • Manage multiple complex projects, often with competing timelines and resource needs

    • Build upon existing internal partnerships: define, iterate and enable new projects that minimize security risk across Square.

    • Participate in quarterly and annual planning for the Security PMO

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    YOU HAVE:

    • 5 or more years of product/project management experience

    • Hands-on experience with Mergers & Acquisitions - either as a TPM managing acquisitions (preferred) or as someone that was employed by a company that was acquired.

    • Excellent leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to inspire team members and product partners

    • Technical background

    • Experience in setting up project schedules and breaking down engineering work across multiple teams and delivery dates

    EVEN BETTER:

    • Experience working in/with a security team

    • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc)

    • Experience managing M&A activities for a technology company
