    Job Description

    As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for the Global Sales Organization, you will advocate for remarkable business processes and technologies that drive hyper-efficiency and high performance output from our salespeople. You’ll use your technical expertise, superbe organization, and relationship management skills to program manage solutions across the Sale team and broader GTM organization.

    Square’s TPMs manage the entire lifecycle of projects and programs, from project planning and kickoff, to execution and launch. They bring order to our teams (and stakeholders) by thinking scalably and openly collaborating with cross-functional project team members to design and improve processes and tools. They are comfortable working within both highly technical and less-technical disciplines to ensure that project inputs and requirements are transformed seamlessly into impactful results. We expect them to independently manage multiple complex programs simultaneously. This role will report into the Infrastructure and Operations team that sits within our Sales Strategy, Operations, Productivity organization.

    YOU WILL:

    • Confidently manage our largest cross-team technology initiatives. These will start with ambiguity, and include gathering inputs & requirements, defining milestones and success criteria, allocating resources and ensuring a successful delivery.

    • Lead programs that involve implementing new GTM systems and/or optimizing existing systems to fit the current and future needs of our business.

    • Coordinate project work across all delivery disciplines and is able to communicate business rules to technical resources (System/Tooling Engineers, CRM Developers, Data Engineers).

    • Understand and align multiple layers of defined dependencies and sequencing, working across disciplines to identify solutions when initial plans change. Proactively identifies and escalates risks before they become problems.

    • Partner with key leaders and stakeholders across Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Business Systems, and Legal to roadmap future initiatives.

    • Communicate and work with stakeholders across all levels to facilitate and influence prioritization and decision-making using data, research, past experience, and cross-team relationships.

    • Participate in expansion of Square’s existing technical footprint to bring in new technologies, build and and respond to RFPs and deliver Statements of Work (SOW)

    • Promote project management best practices and train others on PM processes and tools across teams.

    • Support the development of internal processes and documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    YOU HAVE:

    • 5-8 years of experience in one or combination of the following: Technical program management role leading & supporting complex programs for Sales/ Marketing/ Partnerships business functions; Business/Sales Operations role; or management consulting with significant technology industry experience.

    • Solid understanding of Sales systems and tools. This includes hands-on experience with Salesforce and native features such as CPQ. Experience working with related tools including Salesloft, Marketo, Drift and awareness of how they support business operations.

    • SQL experience preferred.

    • Experience leading complex go-to-market projects/programs in a B2B SaaS organization.

    • Proven experience in supporting projects for Sales and/or Marketing business functions.

    • Understanding of full prospect lifecycle from top of funnel, to handoff to Sales, and a solid understanding of the Sales funnel.

    • Demonstrated experience in all phases of a project lifecycle, including identification of the business problem, development of business cases and project plans, and project management and closeout.

    • Adaptable self-starter who is skilled at creating structure in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

    • Able to serve as a liaison between business and technical teams to drive effective, timely solutions that fulfill both strategic and operational needs.

    • Strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills; rigorous approach to project/program management to deliver enterprise-level projects.

    • Able to team effectively with others and build relationships at all levels, both within the team and with stakeholders.
