Job Description
Team Management (TM) is a suite of features that help sellers manage their teams with Square. It focuses on the access, security, and delegation needs of Square’s largest sellers managing a team at scale. TM helps sellers set up their team members, configure what they are able to see and do across the Square ecosystem, and ensure seamless authentication, enforcement and reporting on the actions those team members take. We provide valuable insights to sellers using data collected from our ecosystem with the goal of helping them make informed decisions about their workforce. We aspire to eliminate the hours of weekly drudgery that sellers and team members expend staying aligned and provide tools to build better relationship between employers and employees. We are building the most intelligent team management software available anywhere, boosted by our ecosystem of data, 360 degree view of the business, and direct relationship with all team members.
As an Engineering Manager on the team, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of the team, managing product goals, contributing to product strategy, and hiring and scaling your team. You will work with leaders across the company, collaborate with world class product managers and designers, and have a seat at the overall Eng leadership. Qualifications
You will:
Help set broad direction and vision for the team while implementing delightful experiences for our sellers
Build a world-class team by hiring exceptional talent, coaching and developing your team, cultivating pragmatic engineering decision-making, and leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar
Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across our product and operations
Own the success of your team's product and deliver quantifiable results in a timely manner
Build systems, services, and product features across multiple platforms that have immediate impact on customers
Be involved in mobile development and release process across several orgs
You have:
BA/BS degree in computer science or equivalent
10+ years of software development experience
3+ years of experience managing teams upto 15+ developers
Experience in managing fullstack teams including senior ICs and potential leaders
Strong technical background in developing user facing products
Experience in building products or plugins/add-ons for a distributed ecosystem
Ability to lead and cultivate a sense of ownership, accountability & urgency in the team
Experience collaborating with engineering leaders and cross-functional team members
Ability to provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team
