Job Description

The Security organization is responsible for reducing security risk for all aspects of doing business at Square. This includes: partnering with engineering teams to help them understand the security risks of their design and implementation choices; creating platform technologies that deliver critical security function; and securing the systems and networks that make up our operations and corporate environment. 

The Security Program Manager will lead the PMO for the security organization at Square and develop programs to enable the evaluation and mitigation of risk across the company. By developing and using metrics to understand success and efficiency, the Security Program Manager will allow teams to make reasonable risk trade-offs that enable them to work securely. 

You will:

• Manage large scale security programs across Square 
• Develop metrics and criteria for evaluating the success and efficiency of security programs 
• Evaluate, scope, and prioritize feature requests and security support for several security teams
• Participate in quarterly and annual planning for the Security organization
• Coordinate engagement, design and execution for the security organization with engineering teams across Square

Qualifications

You have:

• 5+ years of project management experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in an engineering environment
• Ability to work through others
• Strong technical background
• Experience in setting up project schedules and breaking down engineering work
• Ability to collaborate and negotiate divergent requirements from different organizations to deliver solutions that best fit the business need

Even better:

• Previous experience working in/with a security team
• Previous experience running security programs 
• Hands on experience with JIRA
• Experience with data visualization (e.g. Looker/Tableau)
• Experience with PCI, SOC 2, and ISO27001 compliances
