You will manage a team of talented mobile engineers to deliver support for 1st and 3rd party peripherals across Square’s mobile product surface (including iOS, Android, and our in-house Android Open Source Project variant).  You will collaborate with our product and design teams to ensure that millions of merchants have a remarkable experience onboarding, taking payments, and using a variety of 1st and 3rd party peripherals.  You will report to the engineering lead for the Prices and Devices organization.

You will: 

• Lead and build a team of Android and iOS engineers responsible for the entire connected peripheral experience.

• Develop the team’s roadmap and goals in collaboration with your product, design, and data science counterparts.

• Ensure a high level of engineering quality, delivering well-structured APIs, reusable components, and well tested, maintainable software.

Qualifications

Qualifications

You have: 

• 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams

• Mobile development or management experience

• A strong technical understanding of mobile development or related technologies

• Interest in the intersection of mobile devices and hardware (card readers, barcode scanners, printers, scales, etc.)

• iOS / Swift / Objective-C
