Job Description
The Marketing Web team at Square is responsible for building and executing our public web platform. To be an ideal candidate for this role, you will have a proven track record of planning and executing complex digital programs - ideally with a skew towards marketing or e-commerce websites. You'll have experience owning program, product, platform and project plans, and successfully liaising with UX designers, business stakeholders, and your engineering team. In this role, you will own the roadmap of Square’s Marketing Web team, working with design, strategy, channel marketing, engineering, data science, and sales. You will drive key projects for the Marketing Web Team across multiple products and organizations. Program Managers at Square are masters at multitasking, facilitation, process, empathy, and prioritization.
YOU WILL:
In collaboration with cross-functional teams develop and ultimately own and facilitate the Marketing Web Team’s roadmap
Plan and coordinate teams and efforts end-to-end, i.e. from strategy and ideation through execution and beyond
Create and maintain schedules for several parallel platform projects in conjunction with the Project Management team
Work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Product Marketing Managers and other stakeholders to coordinate critical cross-functional work and convergence dates
Continuously track and prioritize the evolution of the platform, relative to ongoing feature development
Track and communicate key performance indicators of the platform and to provide quantitative and actionable insights to the team
Communicate key developments, updates, and problems to leads and cross-functional teams
Discern and implement process improvements that facilitate self-organization and that enable and facilitate a complex and cross-functional workflow
Qualifications
YOU HAVE:
Experience with public facing websites as a revenue driving asset
Demonstrated experience with website performance optimization, both through organic visibility and through experimentation
Knowledge of content management systems, ideally focused on marketing and consumer websites
Experience with the common challenges in cross-functional working groups, including balancing competing demands and priorities
The ability to understand and deal well with rapid development cycles and to remain flexible
Demonstrated experience managing trade-offs given specific constraints
Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills; ability to inspire team members
Self-motivation and a proactive attitude with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
Extended experience in both agile and waterfall methodologies
Ability to initiate, engage and manage strategic and creative efforts for a public facing website
Able to demonstrate an understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices
