Unlike traditional business financing products, Square Capital offers are extended to pre-qualified sellers with no application process, funds are deposited as soon as the next business day, and repayment happens as a fixed percentage of daily card sales. As a software engineer on the International Lending Team, you will take our product to new countries. You'll have the opportunity to meet small business owners around the world and customize our product for them. You will work full stack across Capital and Square codebases facing challenges in system architecture and scalability. YOU WILL:

• Help lead major efforts in internationalizing our codebase
• Work with engineering, product, and other partners to build software that is clean, well-tested and forward-thinking for future international expansion
• Oversee the entirety of your features, including component design, implementation, automated testing, and roll-out
• Work with designers, product managers, data scientists, and other developers to understand our problem space and create elegant solutions
• Mentor junior developers in developing their code and careers

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years working with Ember.js or React in production applications
• Interest in working full-stack, primarily frontend, from developing frontend web applications to implementing business logic
• A proven track record of executing complex, medium-to-large feature releases that span multiple months
• Strong interest in working in a customer-focused environment
• Strong interest in working with other engineering teams and cross functional partners
• A proactive and positive attitude to lead, learn, troubleshoot and take ownership of both small tasks and large features
