    The Technology Business Enablement (TBE) team powers American Express Tech Strategy by enabling Predictability, Transparency, and Efficiency through best-in-class Tech Business Management (TBM) capabilities.

    Within the TBE’s Technology Portfolio Management organization, the Senior Manager of Transformation & Product Strategy will drive the next phase of our enterprise TBM and portfolio ecosystem evolution. This role owns the product vision and transformation roadmap for our connected portfolio toolset, integrating planning, workforce, financial, and delivery systems into a cohesive ecosystem that enables better planning, technology investment transparency, and insight-driven decision-making.

    As our TBM capabilities mature, this role will ensure our tools, data, standards, and operating model work together seamlessly - positioning the organization to leverage connected data for actionable insights and AI-augmented decision support.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    What You’ll Do:

    Own TBM Ecosystem Product Strategy

    • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the enterprise TBM and portfolio management ecosystem (Apptio Targetprocess a nd suppor ting data platforms), with a strong focus on building trusted, connected data that enables AI driven insights.

    • Lead product discovery with stakeholders across the enterprise to gather requirements, build consensus, and t ranslate into scalable cross-platform solutions across portfolio management tools.

    • Identify and drive automation and optimization opportunities across the interconnected TBM and portfolio management ecosystem to improve process efficiency, data quality, and user experience.

    • Develop a deep understanding of end-to-end supply, demand and delivery workflows across the portfolio ecosystem to design scalable, integrated solutions.

    Modernize Costing, Forecasting & Workforce Connectivity

    • Enhance Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies to improve financial transparency and portfolio insights.

    • Surface actionable portfolio insights by leveraging data across enterprise planning platforms and transforming complex information into meaningful reporting and dashboards tailored for executive and operational stakeholders.

    • Enable scenario planning capabilities through integrated planning and operational data.

    Lead Ecosystem Integration & Transformation

    • Drive integration of demand, workforce, financial, operational, and delivery systems into a connected portfolio ecosystem.

    • Improve system integrations, data quality, and process consistency across planning, forecasting, reporting, and governance.

    Lead Data Strategy and Enable Insight-Driven & AI-Augmented Planning

    • Drive data strategy by establishing trusted, governed, and AI-ready data foundations that enable advanced analytics and AI-powered decision-making.

    • Partner with Data & AI teams to improve portfolio data and enable AI-powered insights, forecasting, prioritization, productivity measurement, and governance .

    • Deliver actionable portfolio insights that support executive decision-making and strategic investment planning.

    Who You Are

    • Enterprise transformation professional with experience modernizing portfolio, planning, or financial management ecosystems

    • Strategic product practitioner who treats enterprise platforms as connected products, not just tools

    • Systems thinker who can connect demand, workforce, cost, delivery, and value into a cohesive model

    • Financially credible with expertise in forecasting, costing methodologies, TCO, and scenario planning

    • AI-fluent transformational professional able to shape AI use cases

    • Influential communicator with executive presence and proven ability to drive change through stakeholder alignment

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

    • 7+ years of experience in Product Strategy, Product Management, Technology Business Management, Portfolio Management, or related disciplines.

    • Experience defining product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for enterprise technology platforms.

    • Demonstrated ability to shape data strategy that produces AI-ready data.

    • Experience identifying and operationalizing AI-augmented business use cases.

    • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving technology, finance, product, and engineering organizations.

    • Experience translating complex business problems into scalable technology solutions.

    • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

    • Experience with Agile product management methodologies and roadmap planning.

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with ApptioOne , Apptio Targetprocess , or comparable Technology Business Management platforms.

    • Knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Technology Business Management (TBM), and portfolio investment planning.

    • Experience leading enterprise platform transformations and technology modernization initiatives.

    • Experience driving organizational change and user adoption for enterprise products.

    • Familiarity with AI-enabled product capabilities, automation, and data-driven decision making.

    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a customer-centric mindset.
