Who YOU are:
The Card Payments Specialist II is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of card payment systems, including credit and debit card.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years minimum experience in a financial institution
What YOU’LL do:
- Investigate and resolve card payment disputes and chargebacks, ensuring adherence to card network rules and regulations. Collaborate with internal departments, card processors, and card networks to resolve disputes in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to members regarding card payments, including inquiries, disputes, and general card-related matters. Address and resolve member issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Process a variety of member card-related requests including card orders, credit card limit increases, error resolution and general maintenance and servicing inquiries through all communication channels.
- Review and work daily and monthly reports, such as card re-issuance, posting exceptions and credit balance refunds.
- Collaborate with external payment processors, networks, and other vendors to ensure smooth processing of card payments.
- Stay updated with regulations, rules, and best practices related to card payments, ensuring adherence to compliance standards such as Reg E, CFPB, and card network regulations.
- Assist accounting and other departments with regular reconciliation of card payment transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Resolve any outages or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, IT, and member services, to address payment-related inquiries, provide support, and ensure seamless integration of payment systems with other credit union processes.
- Support internal and external audits of the department, including document provisioning and research.
- Write and maintain department procedures.
- Perform cross-training on all department functions, as necessary.
- Perform specific and delegated duties, as assigned by management.
- Support or backup other department staff as necessary
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the financial services industry.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across departments.
