The Investment Finance (I/F) Generalist Structured Lending Transactor role is a client facing role with responsibility for structuring and greenlighting transactions, preparing and presenting term sheets to clients and managing the loan approval and loan closing process by working closely with Risk Management and the I/F Specialists, who underwrite the transactions. The Structured Lending Transactor will also partner with the I/F Lending Advisor and Private Banker to source new lending business , with the I/F Lending Advisor having direct responsibility to identify and deliver firm-wide credit solutions for prospective and existing clients in partnership with the Private Bankers. The Structured Lending Transactor will be responsible for structuring credit facilities for the following products:
The role requires the individual to have deep product and lending knowledge, outstanding communications and interpersonal skills, industry/competitive knowledge and sound credit judgment. The Structured Lending Transactor will also have the responsibility of working with I/F Specialists and Analysts to manage existing relationships and address client's needs as they arise. This is a demanding role for which a strong mix of credit, process and sales skills is crucial. It requires an ability to influence stakeholders, including clients, and senior Business and Risk managers. It is important for the Structured Lending Transactor to establish credibility with all internal and external stakeholders and to be considered a value-add resource to Private Bankers and Lending Advisors to ensure that opportunities are suitable and approvable. This role will report into the NAM Structured Lending Transactor Team Head. RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role requires an individual with strong structuring skills, deep industry knowledge and sound credit judgment in Lending or Risk with strong Private Banking or Commercial Lending background.
Work independently to screen new loan opportunities and obtain approval from Business and Risk Management to issue term sheets via the preparation of greenlight and capital allocation memos.
Responsible for appropriate transaction structuring and execution (within Product Program guidelines) with appropriate risk and return characteristics, ensuring appropriate compliance with the Bank's Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance standards.
Work closely with IF Specialists to oversee the underwriting and credit approval process for new loans and extensions/modifications and ensure the timely closing of transactions.
Review and negotiate credit documentation in consultation with external counsel and Risk Management, as required, and ensuring compliance with all Citi policies.
