JOB DESCRIPTION:
Location: Tempe, AZ
Hybrid: Remote and In Office Work (2 days per week)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help support the facilitation and implementation of risk management across the 1st Line of Defense within the SVB Securities function, including:
Accountable and responsible for documentation, data entry, and analysis supporting end-to-end identification and assessment of existing and new process/product/system risks and controls
Support your team in partnership with Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, IT, and other process owners to identify risks, maintain compliance standards, and mitigate risks
Facilitate and provide team support in the documentation for identified controls to meet risk program and regulatory obligations
Provide support, coordination, and inventory of all risk management items and statuses
Assist in building risk management dashboards, timelines, and heatmaps to demonstrate risk profiles to the business
Develop and produce regular risk reporting
Partner with Business and managers to track action plans and the completion and documentation of risk issue remediation
Partner with team and managers to deliver a capstone project yielding significant impact in reduction of non-financial risk for the SVB Securities business unit
EDUCATION:
Must be currently in four-year undergraduate college/university or Master’s degree or MBA program.
MBA or Masters student preferred
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Preferred Majors: Engineering, mathematics, finance, or business management
QUALIFICATIONS:
A keen interest in working within a financial institution on the implementation of effective Risk Management programs
Interest in identifying and mitigating reputational, strategic, compliance, technology and operational risks
Comfortable challenging the status quo
High energy and proven track record of academic and workplace achievement
Experience developing presentations and presenting to Senior Leaders
Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across diverse stakeholders
Polished diplomacy, active listening, persuasiveness, and presentation skills
Critical-thinking, business analysis, and process engineering skills to manage, contribute to, and foresee pitfalls in process-related deliverables
Strong expertise with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio as well as Adobe. Expertise with Tableau and Power BI a plus
BASE PAY:
$14.40 - $24.80
Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
