    Job Description

    THIS IS A FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY POSITION (3 - 6 MONTHS). THE POSSIBILITY OF CONVERTING TO A PERMANENT POSITION MAY BE AVAILABLE, BUT IS NOT GUARANTEED.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to add to our Human Resources department. The successful candidate will be an emerging HR professional with a solid set of HR and/or business skills with the drive to move up within the department and further their career in Human Resources. Our HR team will provide you with the supportive environment and training needed to cultivate a strong team player as well as the direction and advice needed to be an effective contributor.

    This position will initially be responsible for ensuring data entry and recordkeeping are accurately kept for all associates. In time, you will be expected to take on more primary roles and responsibilities in human resource management including: HSA Bank Enrollments, Health Plan Administration, Wellness Plan Administration, Benefits Administration, Payroll, Onboarding, HRIS integration, Compensation Banding, and other possible functions.

    AS AN ASSOCIATE SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE (HR ASSISTANT) YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

    • Data Entry – Obtain necessary information from Summit Service Centers and input such information into Summit’s HRIS, benefits, payroll, and SAP systems.  Maintain accuracy of data in Summit’s software as well as hard-copy filing systems.
    • Maintains HRIS and employee records in compliance with all state and federal requirements.
    • Assist with administration of 401(k) plans and yearly compliance reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal and state labor laws and regulations.
    • Assist with interpretation of human resources policies and procedures.
    • Must be able to work with all levels of associates and management within the organization and with vendors.
    • Other Areas of Responsibility – Assist with recurring projects such as onboarding, processing new hire paperwork and associate change forms to include transfers, terminations, I-9 documentation, and collection of AAP information. May assist with immigration, open enrollments, wellness program and other duties as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

    • Must be extremely well organized with a strong “attention to detail” approach to work.
    • Must be self-directed and able to complete complex tasks with little supervision or guidance. 
    • Must have proven track record of communicating effectively and with empathy.  
    • Must possess an enthusiastic “employees are my customers” approach to work. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other software programs (like SAP or ADP - HRIS systems) is necessary.  
    • Experience with UltiPro is highly preferred.

    BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Organizational Management or comparable discipline, or related field experience required.
    • 0-2 or more years of related experience in a human resources department or similar environment. Education may be substituted in lieu of 1 year's experience. 
    • Beneficial to have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the HR field, including knowledge of state and federal employment law.

    PHYSICAL CHALLENGES:

    • Must have ability to lift 5+ lbs. on a regular and consistent basis.
    • Ability to climb stairs.
    • Must be able to sit for long periods of time. 
    • Extensive use of computer keyboards.
