    Job Description

If so, Summit Electric Supply has a great Part-Time Internship opportunity for you!

    AS A LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO: 

    Work with Summit’s Learning and Development Coordinator to build and maintain Summit's top-notch training programs.  In this role you will be responsible for providing administrative and tactical support for Summit’s Learning and Development projects, evaluate and recommend internal and external training options, organize training project activities, and play a key role in implementing new programs designed to support Summit's evolving business needs.  

    TECHNICAL SUPPORT – Assist in the administration of Summit’s Talent Management software platform including data entry, tracking, pulling and creating reports, and updating record​s

    ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT – Administration of the training and development function, including:

    •  Assisting with preparation for in-house courses
    • Arranging travel, meals, and/or other activities

    TRAINING/DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT – Support and assist the Learning and Development Coordinator with creation and/or modification of training and development programs as needed

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint with the ability to adapt to and learn new software programs quickly
    • Effective knowledge of and experience in internet navigation and various search engines to include online arrangement of travel
    • Must be self-motivated, self-directed and able to complete complex tasks with little supervision or guidance
    • Excellent oral and written interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to research and find solutions for complex training needs
    • Must be extremely well organized with a strong attention to detail

     

    BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Seeking 4 year degree in organizational management, business administration, HR, organization, information or learning sciences 
    • Prior experience in arranging travel and/or planning or coordinating events in a corporate setting​
    • Strong interest in training and development
    • Tech savvy
