The Retirement Division Actuarial team is about 20 people. The Actuarial Intern position will gain exposure to actuarial responsibilities within the annuities industry via hands-on work with different actuarial applications, projects, and functions involving annuity pricing. There is a strong team environment such that people frequently can get involved in projects outside their core discipline. Symetra's retirement division has grown to nearly $30B in assets and provides great opportunities for actuaries to work on a variety of annuity related activities and cutting edge products. This position is a full-time, temporary position, lasting for 3-6 months. Responsibilities: Provides actuarial support in product development, financial reporting, management reporting, experience studies, and actuarial research. Prepares reports, maintain spreadsheets, databases, and other actuarial software. Job Requirements Requirements and Qualifications: * Bachelors degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics. * Good technical skills, including knowledge of Excel * SQL, R, and/or Python modeling experience preferred * 1 completed actuarial exam preferred * Good communication skills * Ability to work collaboratively with others Learn more at www.symetra.com/careers.
