Summary We're looking for an individual who is organized, able to multi-task, enjoys collaboration, takes direction well and is detail oriented to work as an intern for our compensation team. Our comp team is part of the overall Human Resource function at Symetra. This internship will prepare the candidate for a future career in the HR, finance or accounting profession by providing practical on-the-job experience, mentoring relationships, and professional networking. Responsibilities * Assist in pay change documentation & communication in collaboration with the HR Business Partner Team * Assist with running reports from compensation related systems & HCM systems * Assist in the reporting on reward utilization on a monthly & quarterly basis * Administer compensation related updates in our HCM system as well as SharePoint * Assist in the validation & submittal of salary surveys * Assist with the preparation and distribution of sales incentive compensation documentation * Assist with satisfying reporting requests from HR and the business and evaluate all requests for appropriateness, maintaining the highest employee data confidentiality * Track & support with invoice processing & payment * Perform any additional tasks as assigned Job Requirements Education required: * Minimum of two years university education working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field. Skills and abilities required: * Analytical and problem solving skills, interest in human resources, finance, accounting or information technology. * Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Ability to manage time and work independently to complete tasks. * Ability to quickly grasp new ideas and concepts. * Strong organizational skills. * Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a must.
