Rowe Price.nbsp; PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Quantitative Investment Analysts in the Research Team support the overall Multi-Asset Division through rigorous financial, quantitative, and statistical analyses mostly at the asset class level, though occasionally at the individual security level. The breadth of these analyses covers the areas of strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio construction and analytics, financial planning research, data and infrastructure design, and product design.nbsp; Most of the teams efforts are research and development oriented and project based in nature, requiring the Quantitative Investment Analysts to be generalists who can straddle the different areas of multi-asset research, and to be comfortable with varying degrees of computational rigor across different projects.nbsp; For this position we are seeking an individual who can operate independently and take on relatively more senior roles in our various projects. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Independently, or in collaboration with other analysts, execute research projects that have been identified to meet the investment needs of the Multi-Asset Division under the guidance of the Research Team leadership: * Identify the core issue * Shape and design the project * Identify and absorb existing research on the subject (internal or external) * Identify (and procure) the most appropriate method, tool, or data to address the issue * Execute the research * Communicate results to key stakeholders * Liaise with internal stakeholders and participate in firm-wide efforts involving multi-asset topics. * Execute operational duties, such as ongoing generation and maintenance of related investment reports, data sets, or analytical infrastructure. * Keep abreast of industry trends in the areas of asset allocation and quantitative financial techniques (e.g., reading applied academic literature) QUALIFICATIONS Required * Minimum of a graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Economics, Engineering, Math, Physics) with strong background in at least one of the following:nbsp; statistics, optimization, operations research, applied mathematics, or numerical analysis * Excellent academic credentials coupled with strong analytical and problem solving skills * Drive to continue to improve capabilities, especially to learn new skills and approaches to problem-solving * Familiarity with Monte Carlo simulation either academically or professionally * Substantial experience programming in Matlab or similar high level computational language or environment (e.g., Python / NumPy / SciPy, R, S-plus, Octave, etc.) * Evidence of ability to work and deliver results independently or as a part of a team * Well-developed oral and written communication skills (ability to gauge audience and to distill complicated analytical concepts down to the right level for various audiences) * Healthy tolerance for ambiguity and constructive attitude (ability to deliver on fuzzy objectives, and to tolerate mid-stream changes in project objectives or process) * Very pragmatic individual (able to appropriately apply varying levels of precision to different projects based on the nature of the project and surrounding circumstances) * Ability to multi-task and to simultaneously push forward several projects Preferred * Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Finance, Economics, Engineering, Math, Physics) with strong background in several of the following:nbsp; statistics, optimization, operations research, applied mathematics, or numerical analysis * Professional or academic experience using Monte Carlo simulation to solve realistic problems in engineering, science, economics, or finance. * Exceptionally strong experience using Matlab or Python / NumPy / SciPy, including experience with the Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigm. * Prior experience in asset management (2+ years), ideally applying quantitative analysis to topics involving asset allocation and financial planning. * Solid and broad understanding of financial markets across asset classes, supported by coursework and practical experience * Experience conducting empirical financial research and working with large data sets * Possessing or willingness to pursue one or more relevant professional designations such as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations. * Experience in project management or project-based environments T.
