This green field project started utilizing the latest in technology, devOps and approach to deliver highly scalable technology solutions that touch all parts of our business. The team is looking to build a team in New York focusing on risk and reporting solutions for both front office and FRTB regulatory compliance. The UI will be built using the React/Redux framework, with supporting services with a mix of Python/Java/Scala. There are parts of the tech stack that have already been built out with the following technologies: NodeJS for Web content delivery Java/Scala/Spark for data aggregation React for UI development Java 8 for server side components Netty, ZeroMQ, and raw sockets for remoting BerkeleyDB and Apache Cassandra for data storage Apache Kafka and Apache Beam for streaming and distribution C++ and JNI integration to the quant library Google Protocol Buffers for serialization HDFS, Apache Hive, Apache Spark for scalable analytics Graphite and Grafana for metrics Linux as the operating system (Open Suse moving to RHEL 7) Job Description The team is looking for a strong UI Software Engineer to work in New York to build out a greenfield risk platform. The ideal candidate would pose the following skills: Comfort with NodeJS and Javascript Some experience with Python and/or Java is a preference Experience working with HDFS/Spark is a preference Requirements Understanding (or a desire to learn) Fixed Income markets (focus on interest rate derivatives) Able to work in a fast paced environment and work independently and passionately Engage and collaborate with multiple groups (trading, quant development, risk management) Interest in continual self-development Qualifications College/University degree with emphasis on Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and business or equivalent work experience 2+ years of experience as a software engineer working hands on in UI development, preferably React Inclusiveness At TD, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible environment, where all employees and customers feel valued, respected and supported.
