Job Requirements Assist senior analysts with monitoring current holdings, including preparing annual credit reviews * Perform an in-depth review of company historical financial statements, accounting methodologies and practices, industry analysis, management assessment, modeling of future financial performance and scenario analysis * Combine the assessment of credit quality with thorough analysis of trust indentures governing various securities being analyzed, and is expected to present investment recommendations discussing investment merits including relative value and total return considerations * Analyze companies to make recommendations for their suitability for TDAMs funds, both in Canada and the US * Undertake ad-hoc projects that improve the research capabilities and analysis that the team conducts * Responsible for reporting on overall trends in the credit markets related to companies/sectors covered * Works under the direction of management or senior analysts * Develop strong professional relationships with companies covered resulting in analysis that is deeper than the party line * Consistently generate thorough and insightful company analysis, backing up opinions with solid, logical evidence * Maintain an appropriate presence and is a proactive contributor to morning meetings and credit committee meetings * Ensure that all credit reports and updates are conducted on schedule * Gather and filter financial data and news to update the team * Establish excellent working relationships with all members of the TDAM team, including but not limited to, Portfolio Managers, Operations, Analysts, Relationship Managers, Client Service reps, Risk Management and Compliance * Share ideas and information, through open communication with all PM&R members to maximize fund performance * Support of initiatives to improve risk-adjusted returns * Understanding of and support for initiatives to improve risk governance
