JOB DESCRIPTION:

In addition to our emphasis on data, the ASO team ensures SVB’s complex and ever-evolving business runs smoothly through technology, training, and enablement. Silicon ValleyBank (SVB) is lookingfor a Data Scientist to join a team of data scientists who are responsible for our Enterprise Analytics Tableau site. This role will work with stakeholders across the bank to enhance our site with new dashboards and solutions, optimizing existing dashboards, improving the user experience, and driving actionable business outcomes. Your primary focus will be to ensure our site is world class and we are strategic analytics partners to our business partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Partner cross-functionally within the Enterprise Business Analytics team and Sales Operations team to drive key initiatives for our stakeholders
• Provide thought leadership to our stakeholders on the effective visualization and deployment of data science and business analytics solutions driving adoption
• Drive current projects to completion in accordance with our site standards while also delivering them on time
• Manage stakeholder engagement, prioritize intakes, and provide transparency to stakeholders on the backlog
• Continue to develop and enforce/execute on best practices and core standards driving an efficient experience for our developers and advanced users, and provide a world class user experience for our stakeholders
• Develop and maintain area(s) of technical knowledge and expertise, engaging with other team members in project reviews and technical consultations

COMPETENCIES

• Able to expertly deconstruct business problems, identify appropriate analytical solutions to drive insights and actions, and work across teams to deliver them
• Demonstrated ability to apply business context and critical thinking skills to solve business problems
• Cross-functional stakeholder management with proven ability to balance the needs and timelines of diverse stakeholders
• Dynamic communicator able to craft narratives driving actions and build effective relationships
• Proven ability to deliver analytical solutions in an extremely complex, multifunctional, matrixed financial services organization
• Experience using product management and agile frameworks in the context of developing analytical solutions

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

• Extensive experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying Tableau dashboards on Tableau Server
• Expert level Tableau competencies and skills with proven experience leveraging concepts like: parameters, actions, LOD calcs, etc.
• Proven experience with performance recording and performance optimization
• Strong understanding of data science, statistical models, and tools
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of data management
• Ability to communicate data visualization best practices
• Strong business acumen with exceptional analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to develop executive level presentations

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree required (computer science, mathematics, economics, statistics or operations research)
• 3+ years of proven experience in the analytics/business intelligence space
• Extensive Tableau experience and expert level proficiency
• Demonstrated proficiency with SQL and preferably at least one scripting language such as Python, R, etc.
• Experience in financial services/commercial banking
• Previous experience supporting larger (1000+) user base on Tableau server

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree preferred (computer science, mathematics, economics, statistics, or operations research)
• 5+ years of proven experience in the analytics space
• Extensive Tableau experience and expert level proficiency including utilizing tabcmd and extensions
• Expert level proficiency with SQL and high level of proficiency with at least one scripting language such as Python, R, etc.
• Previous experience in commercial banking supporting larger (1000+) user base
• Strong problem solving and communication skills - able to deconstruct ambiguous business problems, identify appropriate analytical solutions, collaborate effectively across teams, and persuade stakeholders to adopt your solutions

BASE PAY:

$116,760.00 - $169,086.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
