    You have completed a Bachelor's degree in Biological, Physical or Applied Science. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You know and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in a particular field of specialization. You have worked in a similar role for at least 2 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

    You may have also acquired the following skills:

    • Experience in MC&A (or similar field) at an NRC licensed facility or DOE facility.
    • Strong regulator and internal/external customer orientation, developing networks through constructive relationships and interpersonal communication, results and action orientation, flexibility, initiative, dealing with ambiguity, and quality orientation/attention to details
    • Knowledge of NRC or DOE regulations and practices related to Nuclear Material Control and Accounting.
    • Knowledge of measurement and item control practices and related statistical analyses
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
    • Demonstrated strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on "root cause" analysis
    • Strong written and verbal communications.

You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Material Control Specialist in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. The MC&A specialist is a key member of the Licensing and Compliance function and supports Framatome’s Horn Rapids Fuel Fabrication Facility MC&A Program. Your work will include:

    • Responsible for assigned MC&A efforts within the U.S. including both day-to-day operations and planned facility expansions.
    • Advise other Framatome organizations on regulatory requirements associated with 10CFR 74 and NUREG-1065 as they apply to current and future Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing business activities.
    • Monitor nuclear material measurement systems, perform sampling studies, and estimate measurement uncertainties.
    • Perform nuclear material inventory audits and estimate active inventory uncertainty
    • Perform Shipper Receiver Difference evaluations of nuclear material receipts
    • Write and maintain facility procedures that implement MC&A requirements
    • Interface with the NRC and NNSA

    The Material Control function of EHS&L (Environmental Health Safety and Licensing) has responsibility for all aspects of facility Material Control. The Licensing and Compliance function includes a functional manager responsible for program development and implementation and staff management. The components within the Licensing and Compliance function include, Facility Licensing, Material Control and Accounting, Health Physics, and Environmental Protection.

    The Environmental, Health Safety and Licensing (EHS&L) Function includes the components of Licensing and Compliance; Safety; Security, Emergency Preparedness and Radiological Safety; and Nuclear Criticality Safety. The EHS&L organization supports all aspects of the Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing business at the Framatome Horn Rapids Road Facility.

    Your Total Rewards Package

    The range of base salary for the position is between $77,000 - $101,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
