As an EV Analyst within PNC's yet to be established EV Group, you will be based preferably in either Cleveland, OH or East Brunswick, NJ. The EV Group will be responsible for supporting Underwriting functions within the Corporate & Institutional Bank to produce business valuations for a subset of leveraged lending clients and prospects. Position City OH - Cleveland Building Location OH001 - PNC Center - Cleveland Job Type Regular Job Profile * Provides business valuation for leveraged lending borrowers. Works under limited supervision or independently. Uses multiple data points and valuation methodologies in conjunction with independent judgment to derive well-supported enterprise valuations under both base and stressed case scenarios. * Under limited supervision or independently, conducts research for multiple industries (including economic and market trends) for both private and public companies. May compare subject companies to peers. Researches current and trough level market and transaction comps pertinent to the underlying industry/business. Provides support in synthesizing all available data and reconciling conclusions. * Provides support in analyzing information, and applies critical thinking skills and independent judgment to evaluate the reasonableness of the base and stressed case free cash flow projections, provided by the various underwriting functions for use in a discounted cash flow analysis. Could require further discussions with underwriting to understand company's key performance drivers, competitive niche, and free cash flow assumptions. Assists in written analysis of assumptions, conclusions and other information supporting the enterprise valuation conclusions. * Assists in developing valuation analyses under both base and stressed case scenarios derived from multiple methodologies. Produces a memorandum that includes a detailed justification of the calculations and assumptions, and supports the reasoning and conclusions made regarding the valuation. * Responds, as needed, to challenges and questions from underwriters as well as other first, second and third lines of defense regarding the reasonableness of the valuations derived. Participates, as needed, in the development of systems and reporting for use by various units and senior management. Knowledge of Underwriting - Working Experience * Knowledge of the full spectrum of underwriting activities, practices, tools and considerations; ability to utilize these to implement, manage and improve the underwriting process. Required Education and Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
