Bank Loan Specialist Job Location(s) US-CA-Los Angeles Job ID 2018-1349 Category Investment Operations Department Investment Operations Overview The Bank Loan Specialist is responsible for handling closing and servicing of bank loans. This position will work closely with the Bank Loan Operations Supervisor and will liaise with other key groups within the firm, including the Trade Room, Legal, and Portfolio Reconciliation. Responsibilities Facilitate the closing of syndicated bank loansPar & Distressed, Primary & Secondary, LSTA & LMA. Confirm bank loan trades on the day of execution with the broker; Review and coordinate execution of bank loan documents via ClearPar or paper. Communicate with the Trading Desk resolve trade discrepancies. Provide funding memos settlement packages to custodians and fund administrators electronically via email or CIDD. Resolve daily settlement issues - failed settlements, claims, and overdrafts, involving research, communication, and problem solving. Conduct special projects, as requested, by Bank Loan Operations Manager or Senior Management. Review daily bank loan settlements checklist to ensure all daily tasks are completed. Cultivate positive relationships with custodian and brokers and work proactively to correct trade details inaccuracies to ensure timely settlement. Communicate with other members of Reconciliation and Bank Loan Operations to ensure that trades are being accurately recorded in the SMS portfolio management system. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or similar field. At least 1 year experience with fixed income investments, including derivatives or bank loans, preferably at a buy side company. Excellent organizational skills. Strong attention to detail, extreme accuracy with numerical calculations. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to multi-task; team player. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of Bloomberg, Clear Par, Intralinks, Lend Amend, SyndTrak, Debt Domain, WSO a plus
