The Trader, Discretionary Investments role is instrumental to the efficient operation and Trading of Fixed Income and Equity Securities for Private Banking Discretionary portfolios. Ensure proper and cost effective execution of trades. Control and monitor the activities to remain compliant on an ongoing basis whilst keeping in mind all the risk factors related to the role purpose.
Here’s what you can expect:
As our Trader, Discretionary Investments, you will execute trades generated by the Portfolio Managers, understand Equity & Fixed Income Markets, maintain strong relationships with broker dealers on the street, and actively communicate with the PMs about the daily market movements and trends. It is critical for the discretionary team to have 2 traders covering equity and fixed income trading for the $8.5 billion AUM business as one trader will focus on equities while the other can trade fixed income (and vice versus). 2 traders are needed in order to have trading coverage every day that the markets are open.
For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $136,300 and $204,400.
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
Minimum 3 years’ experience as Financial Market Trader
Strong Fixed Income, specifically Credit and Municipal, Trading experience
Strong understanding of Equity and Fixed Income Markets
Knowledge of Bloomberg, Market Access, Moxy would be preferred
Ideally University Graduate and/or CFA candidate
