    Leadership Principles

Tradeshift’s leadership principles guide actions. Leaders with direct reports are measured against these principles, but all Tradeshifters should hold themselves accountable in bringing them to life. To steer Tradeshift into the future, we need leaders who:

    • Believe: Trust that you can make a difference, even when it's hard. With our ambitions, you need to believe in what others might call impossible. Motivate others and help them believe too, by staying optimistic and solutions-oriented.

    • Connect the dots: Make work meaningful by communicating the connection between our vision, mission, and execution. Give context and perspective to everything we do. Talk with others frequently about why we’re doing what we’re doing, and why it matters. Because it does.

    • Practice Candor: Give honest feedback frequently to others from a place of empathy, especially when it’s daunting. Make sure people know where you stand. Give feedback with the intent to improve, not tear down. And remember to call out when things go well.

    • Build Trust: Do what you say you’ll do. Listen to your team and find ways to support them. Show up consistently with integrity and self-awareness, and act generously when you collaborate. Create a safe environment where your team can trust you and each other.

    • Lighten Up: busy. Give yourself and others permission to be playful. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Enjoy the challenge of climbing the mountain with others. Find ways to have fun with your daily work. Bring lightheartedness to your job, especially when you’re busy.

    • Think big, Act now: Keep your eyes on the long-term picture while taking swift action now. It’s not just about getting tasks done quickly; it’s about prioritizing the tasks that move us toward our goals. Balance your initiative with analysis.

    • Create more leaders: A great leader creates the next generation of leaders. Nurture your teammates to become even better than you. Create opportunities and career growth for the people around you. Leave your ego at the door and think about how you can empower and celebrate others instead.
