    Job Description

    ABOUT THE ROLE With your strategic vision and technical capabilities, you will lead the development and execution of Tradeshift’s People systems (including Workday) strategy and roadmap. Working cross-functionally and as the leader of the People technology team, you’ll lead the ongoing assessment and improvement of People-related systems and applications that meet Tradeshift’s business needs. This role is responsible for designing and delivering People system functionality and efficiency that scales and delivers outstanding user experience. Current Tradeshift People systems/tools: Workday Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll (US), Learning, Talent Management, Employee Engagement (Peakon), and Time Tracking; SmartRecruiter; Bonusly; Asana. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

    • Partner with the People & Culture team and other stakeholders across Tradeshift to design and evolve Tradeshift’s People technology strategy and roadmap. Working through the team you directly manage and cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders, deliver results against the agreed-upon People technology plan. Modify the roadmap and project plan appropriately and nimbly as business priorities change and update/manage stakeholders appropriately
    • Define and deliver the People Technology team operating model to ensure support of the team is effective and efficient, and that team members are enabled for success. Ensure the operating model runs smoothly in all areas including production support, implementations, system enhancements and issue escalations. Ensure maintenance of robust documentation
    • Manage the People Technology Team. Establish team and individual goals, align priorities and identify/develop the skills needed to fulfil the People technology roadmap. Define roles, communicate performance expectations, support career and skill development plans, and hold people accountable
    • Conduct business needs assessments and lead the evaluation and selection of People systems/tools-based solutions
    • Prepare resource plans and timelines for People systems projects, identifying cross-team staffing requirements, external resources and other investments necessary to ensure successful project completion. Effectively influence relevant decision-makers
    • Establish and maintain cost-effective external service-provider relationships that provide project support and specialized skills, as needed
    • Develop and manage the People Technology budget. Develop budget estimates for projects including application/system costs, additional/supplemental staffing needs and other related expenses. Forecast spend against budget and provide regular updates
    • Proactively ensure required and appropriate governance for People technology and people-related data management. Collaborate with the Security and Legal functions to ensure data security and adherence to all data privacy regulations
    • Partner with IT and Tradeshift’s IT Oversight Committee to ensure People technology solutions operate effectively within Tradeshift’s larger business systems strategy and roadmap
    • Partner in other projects that involve People systems solutions, changes, or enhancements

    • Have great planning and organization skills; are process-oriented but flexible and nimble enough to act “on-the-fly” when necessary
    • Take initiative and smart risks, leading while collaborating. Have a strong track record of great collaboration and leadership across the enterprise delivering committed-to-results on large, complex projects in a time and cost-effective manner
    • Are highly proficient with Workday, Google Sheets and Slides. Proficiency with other People systems and tools are a plus
    • Have holistic and working knowledge and experience of the People and related functions, and the systems, applications/tools that support them
    • Have 3 to 5+ years of experience successfully building and leading a People technology team and implementing large complex enterprise projects
