Transaction Banking Product Manager (Associate or VP level)
GENERAL DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Global Transaction Banking Department (GTB) - Americas Office provides various transaction banking solutions, such as payment/collection services, cash management, liquidity management, trade finance (conventional L/C, Supply Chain Management, Stand-by LC), Commercial Card and FX and Treasury related products and solutions. The Department promotes our products and solutions to our corporate customers, primarily Japanese and US corporate customers.
This role sits within our Cash team and supports our Cash management related business.
SUMMARY
Develop and expand the transaction banking business through disciplined product management of Mizuho’s Cash Management products, services and channels. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities to close service gaps, improving operational performance and increase revenue from current Japanese and non-Japanese clients as well as assisting with and providing insight to the “sales pipeline”. Other general responsibilities include working closely with other GTB business and support units to identify cross-sell opportunities and ensure client experience standards are maintained and improved.
The specific scope of product management responsibilities for this role currently includes information reporting with a primary focus on our proprietary online banking services and Host-to-Host channels, particularly as we transition to ISO standards. Secondary responsibilities may include ACH and fraud mitigation services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Management:
Day-to-day management of Mizuho’s cash management product and services
Design and continually update the “Go to Market” strategy and liaise with the Sales, Relationship teams and other business units across the enterprise to execute the strategy
Collaborate with internal technology and operations departments
Conduct UAT for product roll-outs
Conduct market research to identify product set gaps and business case improvement ideas to close those gaps
Manage pricing tables for specific products and services
Design and maintain product marketing materials
Attend industry conferences as needed
Partner with Product Management teams within Global Transaction Banking (GTB) in the Americas and Japan:
Establish strong working relationships with other GTB Business and Support Teams
Develop a practicalunderstanding of the broader GTB Product offering
Update Product Management on client needs and opportunities, as well as market pricing and trends
Improve processes, products and services across the broader Cash Product team
Support Sales and Relationship Management teams when pitching and onboarding cash management opportunities
Provide technical expertise as needed
KEY REQUIREMENTS AND ATTRIBUTES:
English language skills, spoken and written
5-10 years of experience in transaction banking preferably in the product management field or experience managing relationships for Japanese subsidiaries operating in the Americas
Broad knowledge of cash management products and services
Strong understanding of corporate treasury management practices
Knowledge of regulatory policies and procedures
Ability to travel (up to 10% of the time)
Documented success in identifying and delivering new products or enhancing existing products
Ability to multi-task and prioritize requests from regions / branches and departments; project management skills
Hands-on and positive can-do work attitude towards and internal process complexity
Demonstrate leadership and building teamwork in multi-cultural environment
Ability to work with staff of all levels; strong stakeholder management skills
Strong inter-personal skills and presentation skills
Strong organizational/planning skills
Comfortable with Microsoft Office product suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
The expected base salary ranges from $65,000 - $150,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
