    Public Relations Internship- Fall 2018 The Trustees of Reservations - Boston, MA Internship The Fall Public Relations Intern will focus on supporting the fast-paced PR department at The Trustees. As the programming partner at the Boston Public Market and stewards of some of Massachusetts most popular destinations including the Castle Hill on the Crane Estate and Crane Beach, as well as over 100 reservations including working farms, urban gardens, campgrounds, inns and National Historic Landmarks, the PR department at The Trustees employs a multi-faceted and multi-channel approach to media relations. This internship provides the opportunity to gain skills and experience in public relations and media development. We are seeking candidates who are eager to learn the nuances of communications at a nonprofit organization. At the end of the internship, the intern will have learned how to handle database and media report management on Meltwater as well as gained experience in targeted list development, pitch research and drafting, and press release drafting. Opportunities to work on-site at PR events in Boston and greater Boston are possible. Reports to Public Relations Specialist Commitment 15 hours per week for 12-16 weeks * 3 days total (2 days in the Boston office, 1 remote) * Hours and days flexible based on interns schedule, weekdays only The ideal candidate would be able to start in September and continue through December. Responsibilities * Maintain clip reports and media database * Targeted list development * Research and draft pitches to target media * Research and draft press releases * Support day to day needs of department Qualifications * An avid reader, interested in the media landscape * Organized with strong attention to detail * Focused and can work independently and multi-task when necessary * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite * Excellent written and verbal communication * Research experience a plus * Interest/background in conservation, recreation, history, culture and travel a plus * Previous PR or media related internship experience preferred * Candidates must be a rising Junior or Senior at minimum How to Apply Send resume and cover letter to Annie Wolf.
