U.S. Bank Fraud Investigations Quality Assurance Analyst in Overland Park, Kansas The Fraud Investigations Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for reviewing investigation documentation and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) filed by U.S. Bank Fraud investigations to ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, regulatory expectations, and internal policies. The Fraud Investigations QA Analyst will be on a team which has QA responsibilities of the Investigations teams and Pre-File Review teams within U.S. Bank Fraud Investigations. A critical component of the job is providing feedback and training to U.S. Bank Investigators and Pre-File Review Analysts on how to improve their investigations, SARs, and reviews as well as conducting trend analysis on SARs filed by U.S. Bank Fraud Investigations. A Fraud Investigations QA Analyst will be tasked with in-depth quality assurance of both the Fraud Investigations investigative workflow including documentation requirements, as well as the reviews conducted by the Fraud Investigations Pre-File Review Team. A Fraud Investigations QA Analyst will need to be capable of working both independently and within a team environment. Due to breadth of scope of the work, it is essential that an analyst has full understanding of all types of activity that U.S. Bank Fraud investigations is responsible for. The analyst must be capable of making balanced decisions in a confident manner and be willing to defend positions using sound logic and reason, utilizing all corporate and departmental policies as the foundation. In addition to conducting traditional core QA testing (e.g. review SAR form for accuracy), the QA analyst will be tasked with non-traditional testing methods which may differ from month-to-month. Flexibility and willingness to learn is a must. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Review SARs and investigation documentation to ensure they consistently meet Bank Secrecy Act requirements, regulator expectations and internal policies (timeliness, accuracy, completeness). * Evaluate the effectiveness of investigative work products to ensure the appropriate risk factors were considered in the overall decision to SAR/No SAR. * Participate in periodic QA calibration sessions to improve quality and consistency. * Provide feedback and training to U.S. Bank Fraud Investigations teams on how to improve their SAR reporting and investigation quality. * Provide feedback and training to U.S. Bank Fraud Investigations Pre-File Review teams on how to improve the effectiveness of their reviews. * Assist with trend analysis on SARs filed by U.S. Bank Fraud Investigations, to include deficiencies in SAR reporting, and deficiencies in pre-file reviews. * Prepare reports for Quality Assurance management. * Assist in implementation of remedies to deficiencies in department work functions, such as training and instruction manuals. * Support any special projects or critical issues. * Actively ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security, and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies, and procedures. Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience * Three to five years of experience in an applicable risk management environment * Applicable professional certifications Preferred Skills/Experience * Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Criminology, or related field or equivalent work experience. * Three to five years of experience in investigations or pre-file review functions, including filing SARs on Fraud and/or AML/TF matters or related audit/regulatory experience. * Prior bank experience in AML/Fraud environment or internal audit. * Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act / Anti Money Laundering laws and regulations. * Intermediate or advanced knowledge of money laundering techniques/fraud schemes.- Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated proficiency of editing written documentation. * Keen attention to detail on a consistent basis. * Willing to learn and be flexible to change. * Critical thinking skills. * ACAMs or ACFE certification preferred. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and/or experience in using other database applications. * Working knowledge of IBM Forms and ability to administrate and manage data gathered.
