    Job Description

    Ubisoft Entertainment, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Americas Controller for the Accounting department. The position is based in North America with a preference for San Francisco. The position reports to the VP of Controllership for Global Publishing based in Paris and will manage a team of 28 people, mainly in the US.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for all matters related to financial statement generation, payroll, and tax filings, including monthly & semi-annual closing activities for the Americas.
    • Manage and develop a strong, high-performing team; advocate for an environment of continued professional development and teamwork, building organizational capabilities through process design, organizational development, talent retention, recruitment, and training
    • Lead the controllership vision in your region to continuously adapt it to business model evolutions and Group requirements.
    • Specifically own with your local team and consulting partners compliance with the multiple local tax regulations. Able to pursue tax credit/optimization opportunities in the field of e-sport and R&D credit.
    • Manage all audit matters for Americas, both internal & external.
    • Ensure remote sites follow compliance with group policies and strengthen internal controls in your region.
    • Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies to minimize the company’s exposure, working in close collaboration with Legal and business teams.
    • Better integrate the business into the Ubisoft information systems organization, including rolling out a new ERP & treasury system.
    • Interface with banks, casualty/liability insurance agents, credit insurance carriers, and collection agencies.
    • Advise management & develop an approach to keep our business compliant with accounting & tax regulations.
    • Participate in Group related initiatives, including leading projects. This will include supporting the development of internal control initiatives at the global level.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Strong ability to interact with executive-level management on controllership matters.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and represent global accounting in your region.
    • Strong ability to understand business models, determine associated risks and implement adequate related controls in a rapidly changing environment.  
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP having practiced at least 10 years in the field. IFRS is a plus.
    • Strong US tax knowledge built over time, including knowledge of the complexity of local, state, and Federal tax environment as well as related audit procedures.
    • Prior Controller experience or public accountancy management experience in a Big 4 required
    • Team leadership in Finance experience required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related fields.
    • US CPA & Public accounting experience preferred.
    • Strong track record in driving process improvements in a global environment with multiple stakeholders. This should include systems adaptation experience.
    • Ability to lead a team across multiple sites and drive excellence in that environment. This includes being able to communicate effectively through multiple mediums.
    • Strong analytical skills, able to work diligently in a multicultural environment across time zones.
