    Position Title: Credit Analyst

    Reports To: VP – Credit and Loan Review Officer

    Status: Hourly; Non-Exempt

    Location: Wichita

    Position Summary: The Credit Analyst position is a role primarily centered on risk management of the loan portfolio. The Credit Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing credit information on current and potential borrowers; determines the advisability of granting credit for diversified types of loans; assists loan officers in writing loan requests; promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. This position will also conduct appraisal reviews and evaluations.

    Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

    Provide quality internal customer service by communicating risk assessments on various types of loans from the simple to the complex.

    Analyze financial information including tax returns, accounts receivable aging, inventory reports, cash flow statements, etc. for various types of business entities and individuals.

    Develop comparable trend reports utilizing software programs and narrate the findings to the lending staff or various loan committees.

    Monitor collateral and exceptions during post-funding reviews.

    Perform collateral inspections, i.e. floor plan inspections, real estate inspections, cattle inspections, etc.

    Work with collateral process such as UCC and Mortgage Filings.

    Review appraisals and complete appraisal reviews.

    Complete quarterly loan reviews of specific credits.

    Prepare reports on credit proposals, board packets, committee reports, etc.

    Perform appraisal review and evaluations.

    Perform loan review as directed.

    Stay informed with ongoing training to learn and keep up with legal and compliance issues that affect credit decisions daily.

    Keep up to date with lending regulations and recommend changes that may affect credit decisions.

    Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

    Education and Experience Requirements: Knowledge of finance, accounting, and economics, as would be acquired through a four-year, college level course of study & continuing education in one of the above fields. Understanding of laws, rules & regulations affecting banking/lending industry as would be acquired through 2 years of experience in banking or related field. Previous loan experience helpful but not required.

    Specific Skills Required: Ability to communicate effectively with people both internally and externally. Attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Computer skills to include proficiency in Word and Excel programs. Organizational and problem-solving skills required. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Strong people skills required. Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.

    Competencies: Communication, strategic thinking, teamwork, critical thinking, decision making, and strong collaboration.

    System Accesses: Fiserv Precision, Harland Laser Pro, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.

    Equipment Used: Office equipment which includes computer, multi-line phone system, multi-function unit, imaging scanner, etc.

    Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Prolonged (90%) sitting and periodic (less than 10% of the time) physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; This position exists in an office environment requiring the individual to perform normal activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc. Travel between locations may be required.
