    Position Title: Mortgage Loan Processor

    Reports To: AVP, Director of Mortgage Processing and Servicing

    Status: Hourly; Non-Exempt

    Location: Wichita, KS (Not Remote)

    Position Summary: To perform duties related to the processing and preparation of mortgage loan disclosures, documents, and/or review pre- and post-closing documents. Position is primarily focused on ensuring data integrity and quality of loan information while providing back-office support to loan officers to facilitate a smooth and timely loan closing. To maintain exceptional customer relations, provide timely assistance and promote Bank products and services whenever possible.

    Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

    Reviews initial loan application and/or engagement forms received and works with loan officer and borrower to gather appropriate documentation for mortgage loans

    Preparation and delivery of loan disclosures

    Evaluates borrower income and liabilities to ensure compliance with underwriting standards

    Provides loan officer support to clear underwriting requirements

    Ensures appropriate underwriting standards are followed

    Ensures that approval falls within the established lending guidelines

    Communicates with other professionals, including attorneys, county clerks, insurance agents/companies, and title companies, as necessary to facility the processing of loans

    Conducts pre-closing file review to ensure appropriate underwriting standards are followed

    Prepares mortgage loan documents for loan closings. Review for accuracy to facilitate timely loan closing

    Communicates suspected fraud and or discrepancies to the department manager and/or fraud department as applicable

    Recognizes and maintains adherence to compliance with all banking regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the BSA/AML Program at all times

    Provides back-up to other loan processors as needed

    Maintain a high level of customer service through proactive communication with internal customers, i.e. loan officers, assistants, and other team members

    Works in a team environment in an effort to achieve overall bank goals and objectives

    Ensures loan quality and data integrity through administering the conversion and ongoing imaging process and review of post loan documentation

    Performs daily functions related to daily tracking items in the mortgage lending process.

    Provides daily updates to loan staff regarding exception items

    Manages and understands collateral perfection processes such as UCC and mortgage filings.

    Works within a designed process centered on the functionality of computer software

    Provides support to other team members as assigned by Department Head

    Provides back-up support to Mortgage Servicing Specialist as needed

    Performs other duties as may be required or assigned

    Education and Experience Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent required. Two years of mortgage loan processing experience required. Experience with Encompass preferred. Understands Federal, State and Union State banking rules and regulations.

    Specific Skills Required: Ability to communicate, written and verbal, effectively with people both internally and externally. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company. Must be able to qualify for NMLS certification.

    Competencies: Communication, teamwork, critical thinking, decision making, and strong collaboration.

    System Accesses: FiServ Precision, Encompass, LaserPro, ProSign Online, Baker Hill, Microsoft Office Suite.

    Equipment Used: Office equipment which includes computer, multi-line phone system, multi-function unit, etc.

    Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Prolonged (90%) sitting and periodic (less than 10% of the time) physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; This position exists in an office environment requiring the individual to perform normal activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc. Travel between locations may be required.
