The Optum Epic Enterprise Services (OEES) team is building an innovative, comprehensive Epic services capability using the collective expertise of our clinical, consulting, delivery, technology, and operations teams. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, analyze, test, and provide support for Epic’s Reimbursement Contracts
- Collaborate with operational users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements
- Translate user requirements into functional and technical design specifications and review with client(s) to ensure accuracy
- Lead medium to large complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases
- Mentor team members on Epic functionality as well as workflows, documentation, best practices, change management, etc.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Epic’s Reimbursement Contracts module
- Participate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up and issue escalation occurs
- Function as a liaison between Revenue Cycle Operations (RCO), Information Technology (IT) and Third-Party Systems
- Provide support of application incidents reported through the help desk; including 24/7 on-call coverage as required
- Obtain and maintain in-depth knowledge of software functionality; acquire and utilize knowledge of operational workflows
- Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
- Work with trainers to develop and maintain application specific training curriculum and materials
- Adhere to organizational standards for system configuration and change control
- Develop strong relationships with end user communities, customers, and business partners
- Attend, participate in, and contribute to meetings throughout the facility
- Load contract language and terms in Epic
- Research and implement new contract language, payor policies and any updated language as executed by payer and all parties.
- Asist with managed care financial analysis, modeling and analyzing contract proposals.
- Translate annual contract terms into build configuration in Epic
- Configure contracts to reflect modifier percentage changes and re-evaluate existing contractual write-offs
- Report and follow-up on services for which the organization was underpaid or undercharged
- Import fee schedules
- Assist with contract negotiation processes as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree required e.g. Associate, Bachelors, Masters, or a minimum of 4 years healthcare experience
- 4+ years Epic application experience including Epic project experience
- Epic certification in Resolute Professional Billing Reimbursement Contracts and/or Hospital Billing Expected Reimbursement Contracts
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in relevant application(s)
- Knowledge of revenue cycle metrics, KPIs, and process improvement techniques relative to these areas
- Experience/knowledge with payment methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of contract modeling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills
- Experience working in finance/billing office with review and coordinate managed care contracts
- Proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Reside in greater Nashville, TN or willing to relocate to Nashville

- In-depth knowledge of Epic EMR and the full implementation lifecycle of Epic’s suite electronic medical record applications from conception through development into production

- Demonstrated ability to translate user requirements into system specifications

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
