Primary Responsibilities * Analyze and interpret quantitative data to create and review monthly/quarterly and ad hoc exhibits based on detailed data sets * Perform data mining and analysis that impacts foundational pricing and risk assumptions * Provide accurate premium rate development * Extract and compile group specific utilization data to support customer reporting requirements * Assist in the preparation of annual revenue and claim forecasts to determine group-specific reserves * Participate in the UHC Actuarial Leadership Development Program (ALDP). Participants rotate amongst the Actuarial businesses over a defined period of time Are you ready to set the pace as an expert problem solver? Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience * Experience working in finance or the health care industry * Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams * 2+ years of experience working in a corporate environment including experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data * Expertise working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs in MS Excel Preferred Qualifications * 1 year of experience building Actuarial models in SQL (Structured Query Language), SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and/or VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) * A basic level of proficiency with MS Access Raising our game in actuarial science will help UnitedHealth Group maintain our leadership for years to come.
