    DISABILITY INCLUSION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (UP TO 15WEEKS)

    The Disability Inclusion Internship Program is an innovative and collaborative program between UnitedHealth Group and the National Employment Team that serves as a conduit to local Vocational Rehabilitation Centers and Community Resource Partners across the U.S. This competitively paid internship is open to all individuals with disabilities who are interested in developing or enhancing their professional skills in a corporate setting. This program will provide an opportunity for conversion to a full-time or part-time role within the organization BUT IS NOT A GUARANTEE TO PART TIME OR FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT.

    DISABILITY INCLUSION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO:

    • Provide competitively paid health care career skills training in one or more of the following areas: customer service, healthcare economics, informatics, analytics, clinic-based business practices, quality improvement, risk management, provider, and/or staff and patient experience improvement practices
    • Prepare candidates for a corporate role
    • Be a platform to explore healthcare career paths
    • Teach new skills and provide hands-on experience through 12-15 week workforce development program opportunities and collaboration with UHG employees

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We have an opportunity on the HouseCalls Innovation Operations team for a Sr. Business Analyst with experience gathering requirements, identifying process improvement opportunities, and participating in system design sessions. This role will interact with stakeholders across Optum HouseCalls. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of new strategic initiatives and technology builds.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interface with the HouseCalls business functional areas (e.g. scheduling / contact center, clinical, medical coding, etc.) in a multi-faceted role
    • Document requirements related to business process
    • Complete process documentation for both current and future state
    • Communicate requirements to internal and external stakeholders technical areas
    • Facilitate project tasks as needed including project management, testing, and implementation
    • Act in a consultative role for new capabilities

     

    This is a complex, fast-paced, matrixed environment with a lot of moving parts. This position will support many types of business units and project types and will be expected to play several different types of roles depending on the project.

     

    WORK SCHEDULE: Mondays and Fridays the team works from home, Tuesday's through Thursday's we work in office in a very collaborative office setting.

     

    WORK LOCATION: located at 11000 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55344  

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2+ years of requirements gathering or process improvement experience
    • 2+ years of project implementation experience
    • Intermediate or greater level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio
    • Ability to start a 12-15 week internship beginning September 13, 2021

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration or related field
    • Experience working with technology partners in an agile environment

    SOFT SKILLS:

    • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities
    • Ability to clearly articulate project status and issues management to a variety of different audiences
    • Ability to interact across multiple business units
    • Ability to work effectively with minor supervision
    • Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality standards and meeting assigned deadlines
