    The LONG-TERM DISABILITY (LTD) CLAIMS ANALYST is responsible for providing expertise or general claims support to teams in reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating, processing, and adjusting claims. Authorizes the appropriate payment or refers claims to investigators for further review. Conducts data entry and re - work; analyzes and identifies trends and provides reports as necessary.

    This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. TRAINING WILL BE CONDUCTED VIRTUALLY FROM YOUR HOME.

    *All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Review and render determinations on Long Term Disability claims
    • Initiate and maintain appropriate level of communication within ERISA standards through the claim review and investigation process
    • Respond to all inquiries generated relative to Long Term Disability claims within established service time frame
    • Provide accurate claim decisions in accordance with Policy, State, and Federal guidelines
    • Adjudicate Long Term Disability claims
    • Analyzes and investigates
    • Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
    • 1+ years Long Term Disability processing involving initial eligibility reviews
    • 1+ years of experience analyzing and problem - solving issues in a customer service setting
    • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm EST
    • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be REQUIRED to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

    TELECOMMUTE REQUIREMENTS

    • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
    • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure
    • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

    Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $43,200 to $76,700.
