Primary Responsibilities: * Ability to apply clinical knowledge to create and maintain therapeutic equivalency drug and dosing information * Review and analyze formulary data to identify client - specific preferred alternative products for non - preferred and non-formulary products * Develop and maintain new processes for generating and managing preferred formulary alternative lists * Work collaboratively with other product areas and technology partners to integrate and deliver formulary and preferred alternative data * Support short and long term operational and strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and as well as supporting development and maintenance of formulary management applications * Provide operational, clinical, and analytic support for formulary management processes The pharmacist who fills this position will participate in Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and Exchange formulary operation support, with a main focus on managing preferred formulary alternative data. This position requires excellent clinical and analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments. Required Qualifications: * Current and unrestricted Pharmacy License * 1+ years of experience as a licensed pharmacist * 1+ years of experience with project methodology (requirements, design, development, test and implementation) * Demonstrated process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes * Proficient level of experience with PC based software programs and automated database management systems (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) * Experience with data analysis * Strong organizational skills * Excellent communication, writing, time / project management, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills * Working knowledge of relational databases and database structures Preferred Qualifications: * 3+ years of Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) experience * Formulary Management experience * Managed Care experience * PharmD * Pharmacy Residency and/or Pharmacy Board Certification * RxCLAIM / AS400 knowledge and experience Careers with Optum.
