Includes the collection of water samples, recording data and assisting with preparing regulatory reports, adjusting chemical feed rates, and other similar duties. Shift: 12 hour rotating shifts (6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM) Primary Responsibilities: Perform critical testing of facility operations, such as pH, turbidity, chlorine, fluoride residual, alkalinity, etc. in order to monitor system condition. Keep complete, accurate, legible records of all phases of facility operations Keep complete, accurate, legible records of all equipment and plant maintenance. Assist to prepare monthly written operating report based on facilitys operation and/or maintenance records for the client, employer or regulatory agency as required. Inform Chief Operator, Maintenance Manager, or Project Manager in a timely manner of plant problems, upsets, plant expansion, repairs, etc. Work conscientiously and be aware of safety hazards. Be prepared to discuss in a professional manner the plant operations with employer, client, visitors or regulatory personnel. Collect required samples, log in samples correctly and accurately and submit samples to laboratory and review results to ensure permit compliance. Operate plant to meet all regulatory guidelines and responsibilities. Assist maintenance personnel with pump, motor, valve, etc., removal and repair. Maintain accurate records for timesheets. Work scheduled day, nights, weekends and holidays for assigned shift. Project a positive image to operators, clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, etc. Job Requirements Certifications & Licenses: Must possess a valid drivers license. Water Operators certification issued by Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Grade 3 Water Treatment Plant Operator, or ability to obtain reciprocity. Education: High school diploma required. Additional trade specific courses preferred. Skills: Electrical and mechanical experience with the ability to recognize equipment failures. Ability to read and interpret documents such as company policies and procedures, O&M manuals, Safety rules and procedures, process flow diagrams & plans, etc. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical ability at the high school graduate level. Understand calculations and concepts that are industry related to process control and troubleshooting. Professional demeanor and appearance. Demonstrate evidence of good character, positive attitude, reliability and honesty. Ability to work with others and to follow company policies, schedules, procedures, etc. Ability to compile and interpret data. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, company personnel, and regulatory personnel. Ability to work in all types of weather conditions. Ability to determine odors and distinguish colors. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to foresee mechanical equipment failure. Ability to develop and follow a time schedule for assignments. Ability to work in an efficient and safe manner.
