The Dallas Morning News currently has an opening for a temporary Community Relations and Special Events Intern for the upcoming season from January through June of 2018. This talent will assist with the planning and execution of various special events projects including: The LINZ Award linzaward.com High School Journalism Day DMNCharities Summer and Fall Campaigns ( http://www.dmncharities.com ) Internal Events (Employee Engagement, Book Sales, Photo shoots, etc) Community Sponsorships with nonprofits throughout the year What Were Looking For: Super organized and detail-oriented mindset You love all things event planning! (Including the nitty-gritty; logistics, updating spreadsheets on excel, calling sponsors, and making sure deadlines are met) Good with numbers comfortable managing budgeted projects and staying on track with financials Self-starter and ability to work alone or on a team Excellent written, verbal and negotiation skills An innovator with fresh ideas and perspectives Social media savvy and creative (AKA you know what a Snapchat Geofilter is and you can design something on Photoshop if needed) # of Hires Needed 1 Job Requirements Who YOU Are : Recent college graduate or upperclassmen preferred A highly energetic individual with a passion for event marketing and planning Someone who works well in a team and with minimal supervision A Lets Get It Done!
