    Job Description

    This position will support the Chief Data Officer in the Global Data Office and lead our Data Democratization strategy for consumer payments. This is a critical strategic initiative for GDO as well as Visa. Key responsibilities include leadership of Data Science teams, management of key data, analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects and senior stakeholders and transformation of our data culture and processes for the Consumer Payments organization.

    Responsibilities include:

    Strategic & Thought Leadership

    • Identify opportunities for strategic initiatives and partnerships where our data, analytics and AI teams can create impact
    • Prioritize initiatives and resourcing based on overall corporate strategy
    • Shaping the overall strategic direction of our Data Democratization program
    • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, supporting their commercial goals and developing innovative technical solutions
    • Develop a robust talent strategy and standards for our data, analytics and AI teams
    • Empower the Consumer Payments organization and their leaders with powerful data and AI products and solution to inform decision making and enhance the strategy
    • Help create a data-driven culture across the Consumer Payments organization
    • Influence the data infrastructure, technology and governance processes

    Project Management and Execution

    • Develop and manage project plans for strategic data projects, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation

    • Lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic projects seamlessly

    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization

    • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies

    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for strategic initiatives and partnerships

    • Provide regular reports to leadership on the progress and impact of strategic initiatives and partnerships

    Continuous Improvement and Innovation

    • Drive innovation in data science practices to align with and achieve business objectives.
    • Drive organizational efficiency through better focus and scalability of solutions
    • Act as a representative of the Data Democratization project and advocating for its mission and strategic priorities.

    This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications
    • 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

    Preferred Qualifications
    • 15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD)
    • Proven experience in leading high-impact, complex projects and driving data strategy execution within a global organization
    • Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams, including technology, privacy, and business units
    • Experience in the payments industry or financial services

    Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and analytics.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing and mentoring high-performing teams
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with executive leadership and stakeholders at all levels
    • Strong consultative problem-solving experience, working with business partners to develop solutions and drive strategic roadmaps
    • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Proficiency in statistical methods, modeling, and broader data science techniques, analytics tools and software.

    Additional Information

    ** Work Hours:** Varies upon the needs of the department.

    ** Travel Requirements:** This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    ** Mental/Physical Requirements:** This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 231,700 to 426,150 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
