    Job Description

    WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

    The Head of Treasury-as-a-Service (TaaS) North America will be responsible for the overall go-to-market strategy and operations of Currencycloud (CC) NA as well as the initiation and development of the TaaS Business Unit in North America of which CC is a core component. CC’s business is currently focused on the US and Canada but retains responsibility for developing Latin America.

    CC currently has over 40 employees in the US in a remote first working environment, a 2023 revenue target for its direct sales of 15M and 70 customers and partners including major banks, regional banks, money transfer firms and important fintechs. CC’s acquisition by Visa in 2021 is part of an important strategy by Visa to develop and enhance all aspects of the Visa cross-border business. The TaaS business unit addresses both the CC current business and cross-border opportunities within all aspects of Visa . The Head of TaaS, NA will be responsible for both the CC direct sales business and the development of the TaaS business in strategic and operational coordination with other Visa New Flows groups such as Visa Payments Limited, Visa Direct and B2BConnect.

    CC NA staff include new business sales, account management, customer service, banking relationships, compliance and regulation who work as a team on the Americas’ business. Staff are based in LA, Denver, Austin, Chicago, Boston and other US locations and meet in-person once a quarter in the CC New York office at 16th & 5th Ave. The Head provides overall leadership to the CC Americas business including, development of sales strategies, coordination with product development, interface with key current and prospective customers. CC Americas staff are coordinated by the Head but also report to their functional departments within CC.

    The Head of TaaS Americas will jointly report to the Managing Director of Currencycloud based in London and the Head of TaaS based in the Bay Area. The position will also have to closely coordinate with the CC Chief Revenue Officer based in London and the TaaS Head of Visa Platform Products based in Charlotte.

    WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU, DAY TO DAY.

    • Build the Taas business in the US & Canada through the development and execution of a robust go-to-market strategy initially focusing on Currencycloud.
    • Working with the TaaS Strategy team and Currencycloud Sales build the TaaS multi-year go-to-market strategy that includes Currencycloud direct sales, sales of Currencycloud products and services through other Visa channels, and Visa Platform products and solutions.
    • Work with the Currencycloud Chief Revenue Officer and Visa Platforms Commercialization lead to manage the North America New Business Sales, Account Management, Business Development and Partnership teams including target development, performance management and revenue accountability.
    • Build a first-class revenue organization to acquire and develop new customers, new partners, and new channels and to maximize ongoing customer retention.
    • Collaborate with other teams across Currencycloud, TaaS and Visa New Flows to develop products to effectively meet the needs of our target customers
    • Work with the financial institution partners to develop strong working relationships.
    • Develop a deep understanding of the target customers, their needs, and how we can solve them
    • Provide leadership to the TaaS North America team including direct reports and many matrixed reports including Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Compliance.
    • Be the voice of North America customer requirements in product, banking, sales, and TaaS and Currencycloud strategic forums.

The successful candidate will have broad general management responsibilities and will be expected to lead rapid growth in market.

    This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred Qualifications: 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 145,500 to 250,000 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).  Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.     WORK HOURS: Varies upon the needs of the department.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
