    Job Description

    We recently established the Finance Velocity Office, designed to accelerate our path to building a world-class finance function. This newly created function will shape our transformation strategy, improve our business operations and enhance the impact we make as a function. Why velocity? This newly dedicated team will help us drive global consistency and operate as one team to:

    Build a foundation that supports the growth and complexity of our business and improves the day-to-day interactions of our Finance teams. Modernize our processes to enable better, faster decision making and drive more timely insights for our clients and business partners. Implement technology to evolve how we work together to achieve meaningful, sustainable change and enable our long-term growth agenda. Ensure a clear and measurable set of KPIs against our Finance OKRs and Scorecard to track, report and recognize key milestones and impact statements for our work product.

    The VP Global Finance Strategy and Transformation will develop and help drive the Strategy and program management tool kit of the Finance Velocity Office. This is a ‘ground floor’ opportunity to directly influence the processes and approach of the FinanceTeam Transformation. As a key leader of the Transformation team, this person will design, implement and oversee a new team of resources dedicated to executing on the transformation workstreams, and serve as the Process Improvement leader for the Finance Team. They will drive rigor in a process optimization mindset and methodology and shape, coach, lead a program of initiatives to transform the Visa finance function into a world class organization.

    This role reports to the SVP, Finance Transformation Officer and will have frequent interaction with the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Leadership Team and Executive level stakeholders.

    Essential Functions

    ** Strategy and Problem Solving** :

    • Partner on overall Strategy and Vision for the Finance Velocity office and help shape the broader Finance mission statement and operating model to better enable Visa for long-term growth
    • EC meeting prep: Prepare and deliver materials for frequent Executive Committee briefings
    • Provide KPI reporting for regular meetings and on an ad hoc basis as needed.
    • Build key partnerships and leverage points across key stakeholder groups e.g. People team, Enterprise Transformation, Strategy, etc.
    • Drive governance: Define governance structure and engage with key bodies (e.g., Transformation SteerCo), to ensure timely progress of milestones.

    Program and Change Management and Process Improvement Best Practices:

    • Steer transformation reporting: Set guidelines and steer PM resources in reporting to Transformation Leader and SteerCo on program progress.
    • Escalate issues: Drive predictive, forward-looking view of performance, and escalate issues with stakeholders for resolution.
    • Define transformation cadence: Define key transformation meetings needed, including objectives and stakeholders to be engaged.
    • Steer transformation deliverables: Guide design of trackers, tools and templates used across the transformation (e.g., templates for charters, business cases)
    • Support as-needed leadership engagement: Drive ad hoc leadership meetings as requested, to support program delivery / acceleration.
    • “A” Accountability over select Key Initiatives: drive and deliver key projects and select finance wide initiatives including enterprise planning, change management and / or Operating Model design and accountable project leader with cross-functional team and SMEs.
    • Responsible for designing, managing and staffing a team of workstream leaders, transformation coaches and process improvement resources, guiding them through charters, business cases, roadmaps, metrics etc.
    • Develop a deployment and staffing approach to match talent to projects, ensuring mutual best-fit between project needs and individual development needs, ensure that project teams are adequately resourced to deliver projects on time and with exceptional results
    • Develop and manage templates, processes and methodologies to ensure consistency across transformation initiative.

    This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

    Basic Qualifications:
    • 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 8 years of work experience with a PhD in Finance, Management Consulting, Information Technology or related field

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • 15+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, MBA and/or project, change management, Lean, Six-Sigma, Agile certifications a plus
    • Experience building, leading, managing, mentoring and coaching teams
    • Familiar with agile ways of working
    • Expertise in program management with financial and budget management experience in a transformation environment, experience in Finance transformation preferred
    • Strong preference for MBA
    • Experience in Management Consulting and/or Experience designing and executing a digital transformation (preferably in Finance)
    • Strong organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to manage numerous projects/deliverables against set deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others in a high stress, fast paced environment.
    • Progressively increasing responsibility over his/her career with respect to scope of work and team size

    Additional Information

    ** Work Hours:** Varies upon the needs of the department.

    ** Travel Requirements:** This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    ** Mental/Physical Requirements:** This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 218,100.00 to 300,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
