    Job Description

    Visa Global Product Design is comprised of five specializations: Design, Research & Accessibility, Design Engineering, Design Operations and Content Creation & Design Strategy.

     

    Design Operations is looking for a Strategic Design Operations Program Manager to join our small, yet nimble team. Collectively, Design Ops is responsible for partnering across our organization to transform and optimize the impact, productivity, scalability and culture of Design at Visa. You will work with the Global and North America Design leads and business stakeholders in Global Product, Technology, Product Design, Innovation, legal, HR, finance and sourcing to empower design teams to do their best work.

     

    This analytical individual will be responsible for helping to build, run and track design processes and metrics needed to operate our Design practice across disciplines and regions. The role will also own multiple key strategic initiatives to deliver the value of design for our clients, our company and our ecosystem. The ideal candidate is curious and practical, yet passionate—a team player with experience working with designers and stakeholders across various phases of the design process in order to successfully support, navigate, articulate and champion the strategic importance of design internally and externally. Ultimately, you’ll help shape the future of Design at Visa.

     

    Although we prefer candidates be located in one of our Design hubs—Austin, San Francisco and New York City—we are open to the possibility of a remote work arrangement should it suit all parties.

     

    Role responsibilities include:

    ·       Support the Global Design organization and our design teams to succeed and deliver on goals, while continuously seeking out ways to improve our process, capabilities and culture

    ·       Manage programs and key activities at the global, portfolio and project level as needed

    ·       Assist in refining and harmonizing the design engagement process across all design teams globally with integration to other operations teams as needed (e.g. product, innovation, consulting)

    ·       Establish and manage a pipeline for reviewing product and initiative work with design leadership; track and measure design engagements against goals and scorecard

    ·       Conduct regular status meetings with point persons from relevant teams to assure the coordination of all projects is up-to-date and clearly communicated

    ·       Demonstrate link between daily work and company mission

    ·       Lead the planning and execution for design communications, all-hands, share-outs, executive reviews, etc.

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    ·       Minimum of 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 2 years of work experience with a Masters Degree (or other advanced degree)

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    ·       Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 6+ years with a Masters Degree (or other advanced degree) in Design, Design Management, Business or related field

    ·       Direct work experience in a creative agency or consulting environment (agency or client side) in a relevant role: Producer, Program Manager, Creative Operations, Design Operations or Project Management

    Additional Information

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    ·       Working knowledge and experience with various frameworks of agile team and work management, including pool and squad resource structures

    ·       Familiarity with design and user research tools, methods and processes

    ·       Experience leading change management efforts with proven results

    ·       Strong communication, facilitation and influencing skills

    ·       Experience with cross functional design teams, including requirements gathering and participating in the analysis to solve for complex design decisions

    ·       Strong proficiency in business tools, especially Excel, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and/or Keynote

    ·       Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Sketch, Figma

    ·       Working knowledge of Agile, SCRUM methodology

    ·       Exceptional data analysis, problem-solving and written documentation skills

    ·       Ability to find order in white space environments, create momentum around priorities

    ·       Resilient and positive attitude, even in challenging circumstances

    ·       Experience in a complex, non-design-led organization is a plus

    ·       Project Management certification is a plus, but not required

    ·       Payment Industry experience is a plus, but not required

     

     

    WORK HOURS

    Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

     

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time. 

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
