    The successful intern will join a team of information security analysts and investigators in a global security operations center. These analysts perform a critical function in seeing initial incident triage through to a findings stage with digital forensics and other advanced investigative methodologies. The team is part of a larger Cybersecurity organization located across multiple geographic sites and responsible for the comprehensive cyber defense of Visa and its subsidiaries.

    Some Job duties and projects include:

    • Identify Cybersecurity threats and perform analysis of reported anomalies on Visa networks and systems.
    • Mitigate and contain identified threats using approved methodologies when detected.
    • Support Incident Response escalations by actively performing digital forensics exams on myriad technological devices (i.e. workstation, mobile devices, servers).
    • Operationalize actionable reports from the Threat Intelligence team and external sources.
    • Collaborate with operational support staff to ensure they are actively engaged in potential security threats and concerns.
    • Provide feedback to peer teams to enhance the sensor set and improve signature fidelity.
    • Contribute to projects that enhance the security posture of the enterprise. Opportunities may include big data analytics, automated malware analysis tools, whitelisting/blacklisting, NAC, deep packet inspection, live forensics, and others.
    • Identify trends, potential new technologies, and emerging threats that may influence the business.
    • Provide technical advice and input for the support of integrated security systems and solutions.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a graduation date in December 2024 or later
    • Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications that demonstrate professional judgment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with technology, information security, and/or network administration
    • Educational or practical work experience utilizing Digital Forensic tools
    • Experience with Windows, Mac, and Unix/Linux Platforms.
    • A solid foundational understanding of TCP/IP and networks to include firewalls, routers, and ACLs.
    • Solid problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest issues encountered and recommend an appropriate solution
    • Ability to convey security concepts related Cybersecurity events to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Programming experience is a plus
    • The ability to take on challenges and address problems head-on
    • Strong ability to collaborate
    • Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented
    • Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity

    Additional Information

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly rate for a new hire into this position is $26/hr to $31/hr, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.     ** Travel Requirements:** This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    ** Mental/Physical Requirements:** This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
