This is an individual contributor role within Corporate IT in our Austin-based Technology hub. In this role you will participate in design, development and technology delivery projects with many leadership opportunities. Additionally, this position provides application administration and end-user support services. There will be significant collaboration with business partners, multiple Visa IT teams and third-party vendors. The portfolio includes SaaS and hosted packaged applications as well as multiple content providers such as Pathgather (Degreed), Cornerstone, Watershed, Pluralsight, Lynda, Safari and many others. We are looking for an expert in technical product development, integration and engineering to join the Visa University team and help drive a learning culture across Visa.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Engage with product managers, design team and student experience team in Visa University to ensure that the right learning platforms and content providers are available and accessible to Visa employees around the world
    • Build lasting, scalable and secure solutions which deliver a delightful user experience, are resilient and promote learning
    • Build and own the learning/content layer of our environment, including partnering with 3rd party vendors to leverage APIs, web services, application configuration and support
    • Design, build, maintain integrations for SaaS and hosted applications, including diagnosing, troubleshooting and corrective actions
    • Partner with IT groups such as Engineering, Network, Security, and Infrastructure on project delivery activities specific to integration and development like SSO, security testing and remediation, network configurations
    • Participate in technology project delivery activities such as business requirement collaboration, estimation, conceptual approach, design, development, test case preparation, unit/integration test execution, support process documentation and status updates
    • Participate in vendor demo and technical deep dive sessions for upcoming projects
    • Collaborate with analytics engineers to build efficient data pipelines
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in technical product development/implementation and engineering role and a degree in computer science, engineering, or similar
    • A minimum of 2 years working with packaged software, experience with SaaS solutions for learning & development or human resources operations is strongly preferred
    • High level of ability in JSON, SQL
    • Proven experience working with technologies such as XML, XSLT, XPATH, SOA, SOAP, REST Web Services and Web technologies
    • Experience with Python
    • Experience with HTML and JavaScript
    • Knowledge of SQL programming, C# and .NET with Visual Studio, TFS
    • Basic SFTP and encryption knowledge
    • Experience with xAPI is a plus
    • Experience with Microsoft Azure SSO
    • Experience with secure development principles
    • You have a strong business sense and you are able to translate business problems to data driven solutions with minimal oversight
    • You are a communicative person who values building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, enjoys mentoring and teaching others and you have the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • The incumbent will be expected to travel <5% of the time

    WORK HOURS:

    • The incumbent will be expected to work during core business hours. Occasionally may need to support offshore teams.
