    Job Description

    Job duties and project have included:

    • Supporting Database Administration and Engineering in the architecture, design, development and deployment, and management of Microsoft SQL database environments
    • Providing DBA support for databases in various environment including non-prod and prod and providing support for vendors and internally developed applications
    • Physically implementing databases, storage structures, high-availability solutions, replication, encryption, and disaster recovery solutions
    • Analyzing performance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving database issues
    • Working closely with other O&I and engineering teams, product development, business operations, and technical operations to ensure delivery of database services within the SLAs and performance target set

    Specific assignments will depend on upon your skills sets, interest, location and team needs.

    DATABASE ENGINEER INTERNS will be placed in one of the Technology Organization teams. Here is a list and brief descriptions:

    ELIGIBILITY:

    • Pursuing a BACHELOR'S DEGREE in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field
    • Students graduating December 2019 or later
    • Competitive GPA

    SKILL SETS:

    • Prior knowledge or experience with Microsoft SQL server technologies
    • Understanding of network, storage, tiered application environments
    • Engineering skills in developing enterprise solutions to support MSSQL in areas such as backup, monitoring/alerting, security compliance, patching, etc.
    • The ability to tackle challenges and address problems head-on
    • Strong ability to collaborate
    • Highly driven, inventive and results oriented
